Mohammad Shami takes a dig at Sanjay Manjarekar’s latest comment on his Instagram Story!

Mohammed Shami has hit out against former cricketer Sanjay Manjarekar after the latter chose to scrutinise Shami over his form ahead of the auction.

New Delhi: Ahead of the mega auction on the 24th and 25th, social media has been buzzing with news, rumours and allegations about price, numbers and stats. Amidst this chaos and buzz, Mohammed Shami has hit out against former cricketer Sanjay Manjarekar after the latter chose to scrutinise Shami over his form ahead of the auction.

The Indian fast bowler who recently made a comeback to the red ball cricket with his domestic team, West Bengal in the ongoing Ranji season was not at all happy with Manjrekar’s assessment and didn’t waste any time reacting to it. Replying to Manjarekar’s assessment, Shami put out a post on his Instagram id, praising Manjarekar sarcastically for future predictions and astrology!

What was the conflict?

The episode began with Manjrekar commenting on Shami’s injury and how it may force the franchises to not invest heavily in the pacer. In an episode on Star Sports regarding the IPL auction Manjarekar remarked:

There will definitely be interest from teams, but given Shami’s injury history — and this recent one took a significant amount of time to recover — there’s always a concern about a potential breakdown during the season..

Furthermore, the former Indian cricketer added that it would be a huge gamble on the part of the franchises who might lose out on the services of Shami in the middle of the season owing to his recurring injuries. This problem might lead to a drop in the price of the Indian fast bowler.
