New Delhi: The 58th edition of the Mr Olympia bodybuilding contest was held on December 16 and 17 in Las Vegas. The content held under the Olympia Weekend included amateur and professional shows, as well as an expo, with bodybuilding athletes competing across 11 divisions. Hadi Choopan won Mr Olympia, the primary contest of the show.
Mr Olympia is considered to be the greatest and the most prestigious bodybuilding contest. Various bodybuilders from across the world compete in categories such as Mr Olympia, 212, Figure, Ms Olympia, Bikini and many more.
Mr Olympia:
The men’s open competition was the main highlight of the show, where Iran’s Hadi Choopan emerged as the winner. However, Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay was eyeing to be the ninth man to win at least three titles. Top contender of 2019 O Brandon Curry was considered to be one of the best this year. Choopan took home USD 400,000 with the title, while Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker stood in the second and third spots and won USD 150,000 and USD 100,000 respectively.
Ms Olympia:
Andrea Shaw won the Ms Olympia contest and took home USD 50,000. Angela Yeo stood as the runner-up, while Helle Trevino stood third in the contest. They won a prize money of USD 20,000 and USD 12,000 respectively.
