New Delhi: The National Sports Awards 2023 were announced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports on Wednesday. Chirag Chandrashekhar Shetty and Rankireddy Satwik Sai Raj will receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2023 for their outstanding contributions to badminton, according to the announcement.

The Arjuna Awards for exceptional achievement in sports and games in 2023 will be given to an additional 26 athletes. Due to his outstanding performance for the Indian squad, cricketer Mohammed Shami has also been selected for the Arjuna Awards.

On January 9, 2024, at a specially scheduled event at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the awardees will receive their accolades from the President of India.
