How Twitter trolled Pak over ‘Fake Mr Bean’

Zimbabwe cricketers broke into dance celebrations at the field post victory, its President took a jibe at Pakistan and said ‘next time send the real Mr Bean’. Pakistan PM Shehbaaz Sharif was quick to respond with a counter jibe.

However, it was the Twitterrati who had the real fun in trolling Pakistan, first over its repeated defeats in T20 WC and then over ‘Fake Mr Bean’ controversy.

What is Mr Bean controversy?

The whole fiasco began when Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a photo of practicing Pak team before the match with Zimbabwe.

A Zimbabwe fan responded to PCB’s tweet and jokingly said that the nation hasn’t forgotten or forgiven Pakistan for sending fake Mr Bean to Harrare for an event.

He also shared photo of the fraud Pakistani national Asif Muhammad and he did travel to Zimbabwe in 2016, impersonating him as Mr Bean.

The Pakistani national bears a striking similarity with Mr Bean character, as portrayed by British legend Rowan Atkinson. Asif took part in a comic night event in Harare. When his fraud became public, it created anger & resentment among the locals.

After the match, as Zimbabwe fans trolled Pakistan, a couple of them also shared photos & videos of Fake Mr Bean when he travelled to the landlocked nation.
