New Delhi: Pakistan’s ex-cricketer Kamran Akmal made it to the news again. Kamran’s sacrificial goat got stolen from his house in Lahore. This is not the first time the wicketkeeper-batsman is making it to the headlines for unusual reasons. Previously, he has been in news and meme culture for match-fixing and grammatically incorrect English.
Just days before Eid al-Adha, the cricketer bought six goats, which were tied outside his residence. His father has claimed that the theft might have taken place around 3 am. According to a report, the stolen goat was bought for 90,000 Pakistani Rupees (INR 35, 455) and was the best one amongst the six goats according to the cricketer’s father. The management of the housing society has promised that they will try to find the thieves and recover the stolen goat.
A few days back he was in news for criticising Pakistan cricketer’s selection committee for not selecting a strong squad for Pakistan’s tour to Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play 2 Test matches against Sri Lanka, with the first Test starting on July 16.
Kamran Akmal started his international career in 2002. He has played 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is for Pakistan. While in the ODIs he has scored a total of 3236 runs and has 189 dismissals credited to him. Having done 4 stumping in an inning, he holds the record for most stumping in a T20I inning.
