New Delhi: With the Paris Olympics knocking at the doors, all eyes will be on Neeraj Chopra who will look to repeat his heroics from Tokyo. PM Modi also interacted with the Paris-bound athletes who will spearhead the Indian challenge.
India has sent a strong contingent of 120 athletes. A major chunk of this contingent includes the Indian shooters who had an excellent performance during the Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Modi reportedly had a brief and productive conversation with the star Olympian- Neeraj Chopra, Nikhat Zareen and PV Sindhu.

“Training is going fine in Germany…”- Neeraj optimistic about Paris!
One of the star performers in the Olympic lineup has been Neeraj Chopra. The star athlete from Haryana has become the poster boy of Indian athletics after he won an individual gold in Tokyo 2020. The last time an Indian who had won an individual gold medal in the Olympics was way back in Beijing 2008 (Abhinav Bindra).

Naturally, all eyes will be on Neeraj to repeat the feat once again in Paris. Interestingly, while conversing virtually with PM Modi, Neeraj promised the Indian Prime Minister that he would bring some homemade “churma” for the Indian PM once he returned from Paris.
To this statement, the Indian Prime Minister fondly remarked, “Mujhe aapke maa ke haath ka khaaana hai…” indicating that the Indian PM eagerly awaits the return of the Olympian with the dangling gold medal.

Neeraj who will be looking to defend his gold medal in Paris has been training currently in Germany. Upon being asked about his training regime, the star Javelin thrower remarked, “Training is going fine in Germany. I have been playing less because of injury scares. I am trying to stay injury-free…”
