PV Sindhu part ways with her South Korean coach Park Tae-Sang

Sindhu won a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics and a CWG gold with Park Tae-Sang, while the Korean shuttler made a lot of fans in India.

New Delhi: PV Sindhu and her South Korean coach Park Tae-Sang have parted ways. Tae-Sang shared a post on social media writing a note about his journey and the reason behind their parting ways. Sindhu won a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics and a CWG gold with Park Tae-Sang, while the Korean shuttler made a lot of fans in India.

Park Tae-Sang shared pictures with Sindhu from the Olympics and Birmingham CWG and wrote that he returned to Hyderabad a few days ago as his father’s condition was not good. Writing about his relationship with Sindhu, he mentioned that the shuttler has not been doing well lately and as a coach, he is responsible for it.

Park added that Sindhu wanted to change her coach and he respects her decision. He wrote that he will support her in the next Olympics from afar and will remember every moment with her. He also thanked his supporters and fans.

Apart from the bronze at Tokyo Olympics and Gold at CWG in the women’s singles category, Sindhu also won three BWF World Tour tiles in 2022 with Park, including, the Syed Modi International, Swiss Open and Singapore Open.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu will be coached and assisted by former All-England champion, Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia at the Suchitra Academy ahead of her All-England campaign. Suchitra Academy has also confirmed the appointment.

As a player Park Tae-Sang clinched two mixed team bronze medals at the Sudirman Cup and the gold medal at the Asian Games 2002. He became a badminton coach in 2013.
