“Question Of The Day”: Viswanathan Anand stumped by 8-year-old twins sisters in Chennai

The 8-year-old duo’s query got the best of Anand, as he tries to look for an answer for a while before finally saying, “I have no idea”

New Delhi:  Indian Chess legend Viswanathan Anand was left clueless by two young twin sisters during an interaction at the Chess Olympiad in Chennai.

The 8-year-old duo’s query got the best of Anand, as he tries to look for an answer for a while before finally saying, “I have no idea”.

The latter couldn’t find a proper answer as most of the people including Anand couldn’t understand the complex question by the young chess fans.

In a recently shared video on social media, the young twins can be seen brainstorming about what to ask the Grandmaster, and in the end, question something about ‘distracting the chess pieces’.

As Anand contemplated the question and began to answer, the little girl interrupted him and repeat her question again.

Super confused with the whole equation, Anand finally said, “I have no idea. I try but they never get distracted. I’m sorry but you can try and distract the opponents but I don’t know how to distract the pieces”.

The video was first shared by Twitter user Anuradha Beniwal, which was later retweeted by Anand with caption, “Question Of The Day”.

The video clip has now gone viral on social media, with Twitter users coming up with hilarious takes on the entire incident.

“How to distract the pieces? Only a boundlessly creative mind which is consumed by the game could think along those lines!”, a user wrote.

“In mix of innocence!!”, another said.

Meanwhile, on work front, five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand has decided not to take part at the showpiece event being held in Mamallapuram till August 10.
