Talking to Cricbuzz, Sehwag said that if it is about establishing oneself in the Indian team, then KL Rahul is far better than Sanju Samson. He added that Rahul has played Test matches and scored hundreds in many countries, and has performed well across formats, both as an opener and in the middle order.

Talking about the upcoming clash between RR and LSG, the former cricketer said that KL Rahul is back in form and has scored runs in the previous match. He acknowledged that his strike rate has met expectations. Talking about RR, he said that they don’t have an express pace fast bowler apart from Trent Boult, while they do have ‘dangerous spinners’, but if KL Rahul bats for long, he will take them on.

Rahul’s form has been a matter of debate in the cricket fraternity for quite some time now, and he has shown some glimpses both in international cricket and in the IPL to prove his worth. On the other hand, Sanju Samson has been in tremendous T20 form and has a huge fanbase that wants him to get a consistent run in the Indian team.

Rahul has scored 155 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 113.13, which includes the knock of  74 off 56 balls against PBKS. Meanwhile, Samson has scored 157 runs in the same number of games, but at a strike rate of 165.26.
