New Delhi: After a mutual agreement with the club, Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United. Though many saw it coming, Man U fans were left emotional after the news. Ronaldo took to Twitter to share a heartfelt note after the club shared the statement regarding the termination of the contract.

Manchester United ended Ronaldo’s contract after a mutual agreement on November 22 and wished him luck for his future. Following this, the footballer shared a note stating that he and the club decided to end the contract early but his love for the club and the fans would not change. He also stated that he feels that this is the right time for a new challenge.

Before the transfer window for the 2022-23 season began, Ronaldo reportedly expressed that he does not want to play for United. Since then things were not going right between him and the club manager Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo was benched for some games and got less playing time in the others, which also made him walk off a few games.

He also shared about club owners and current and former players in an interview with Piers Morgan. The interview shook the football world and widened the gap between United’s management and Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently playing the FIFA World Cup in Qatar for his national side Portugal. He will start his campaign on November 24 against Ghana. With 117 goals, he is the top goal-scorer in the international arena and scored a World Cup hat-trick in 2018. However, in this season, he managed just three goals in 16 appearances.
