New Delhi: In the latest rankings released by the ICC, Indian Women’s Team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has climbed up one place to enter the Top 3 in the ICC ODI rankings.

Mandhana who has 738 rating points in the ICC ranking list is the top-ranked Indian batter in the 50-over format from India. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur retained her 9th position. Mandhana has also held on to her 4th spot in the T20 rankings.

On the other hand, there has been a huge shift among the Sri Lankan cricketers. It was obvious given the fact that Sri Lanka was coming after winning the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. Sri Lanka’s star batter Chamari Athapaththu has slipped behind Mandhana to fourth place.

Although Athapaththu might have received a great setback in the rankings, her compatriot cricketers Nilakshika de Silva (up three places to 32nd), Harshitha Samarawickrama (up eight places to 44th) and Kavisha Dilhari have all seen a handsome improvement in the ODI batting rankings.

Rankings for other Indian Women Cricketers

Apart from Mandhana and Harmanpreet, Deepti Sharma has found herself in the top 5 rankings in the ODI bowling rankings. Sharma has been in the top 3 when it comes to the T20I rankings. In the T20I rankings, Renuka Singh has also made rapid improvements to pivot herself to the 5th position.

On the other hand, in the Women’s all-rounder rankings, Deepti has been at the top with 5th rank in the ODI rankings while at the 3rd position in the T20I rankings. Indian cricket has seen some unprecedented development in women’s cricket with BCCI Presidents like Sourav Ganguly stressing on the same. Therefore, there has been such an improvement in the overall rankings of the Indian women cricketers.
