SRH vs PBKS: Can Sunrisers make one last effort to claim the second spot on the points table?

Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Punjab Kings for the last home fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Punjab Kings for the last home fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Hyderabad has already qualified for the playoffs courtesy of a washout on May 19th. However, the Sunrisers will be looking to have two shots for the finals of IPL 2024. To realise their dream, the Orange Army needs to secure a win against Punjab while also hoping for a win from KKR against RR which is scheduled for later in the evening.

Sunrisers have brought the house down this year with their ferocious batting and a remarkable batting display.  The hosts, however, haven’t had any onfield action for a while now and were on a 7-day break. Pat Cummins and Co. will be looking to put on an inspiring performance to continue their winning chariot.

Pitch status and head-to-head

Hyderabad has been a batting paradise and a bowler’s hell throughout the season. Naturally, this match also looks poised to fall in line with the same norm. However, as torrential rain has hit the southern part of India, fans can expect some curtailment in this match as well.

When it comes to head-to-head, SRH is miles ahead of PBKS in terms of wins. SRH has won the contest 15 times, whereas PBKS have won just 7 times. Moreover, Sunrisers have won their last two matches against Punjab including the away match at Mullanpur.
