Star Sports brings back the iconic “Mauka” promo ahead of Ind vs Pak clash at the T20 World Cup

Amidst the mercurial clash between the two sides, broadcasting giants Star Sports has come out with a brand new instalment of the iconic “Mauka” campaign.

New Delhi: The countdown for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has begun with teams gearing up with a holistic preparation. Amongst this grand cricketing extravaganza, fans are waiting for the time when India and Pakistan will clash again at cricket’s highest stage on the 9th of June. India vs Pakistan has always been considered as one of the fiercest rivalry on and off the field due to the history of both nations.

India has traditionally held the upper hand over their arch-rivals when it comes to ICC Tournaments. However, this dominance was ruptured when a high-spirited Pakistani side led by Babar Azam thrashed India at the 2021 World Cup. India has bounced back since then to thwart the opposition in both the Asia Cup and the World T20 in 2022.

For this year’s ICC T20 World Cup, the men in blue are placed in group A alongside Pakistan, Canada, Ireland and the USA. Indian cricket fans can catch their favourite players muscle it out against Pakistan on the Star Sports Network as well as stream it online on Disney+Hotstar.

Ratan’s humourous gesture and passion reflect the journey of the dominance of India over their arch-rivals starting from 2007 when a sleeveless Mahendra Singh Dhoni lifted the World Cup. It also demonstrated the phenomenal record that the men in blue have against Pakistan winning six times in a row.

However, things changed when Pakistan registered their first win in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Since then, it has given a new angle to this rivalry. Furthermore, it has made the encounter riveting for fans of both sides across the globe.

Talking about the new promo video, former Pakistani skipper Misbah Ul Haq has remarked, “The thing in World Cups is that India has something special, that no matter how well Pakistan performs and play…India always win….” On the other hand, Harbhajan Singh has said, “It’s such a great feeling that you would dream of, to get the World Cup trophy in our hands….
