Star wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant suffers two cuts on his forehead, ligament tear in his right knee: BCCI

Rishabh Pant car accident: BCCI releases statement on Star wicket-keeper’s health.

New Delhi: India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident today near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Rishab was soon rushed to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries.

According to the official statement, Rishabh received two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

Rishabh was later shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, and his condition remains stable.

The statement further said the star wicketkeeper will have to undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries.

The BCCI said in a statement that they are in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh.

The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase.

Taking to Twitter, Jay Shah informed that they are closely monitoring the progress. He also said his thoughts and prayers are with Rishabh Pant.

Delhi and District Cricket Association Officials said if required the player will be shifted to Delhi.

The photographs and videos of the incident show Pant’s car in badly burnt condition.

Also, Pant can be seen with a bandage on his forehead.

SK Singh, SP Rural, Haridwar said the player fell asleep 1km ahead of Narsan towards Roorkee while he was travelling alone to meet his relatives.

According to reports, his car met with an accident at around 5.30 am today.
