New Delhi: Suryakumar Yadav’s Mumbai Indians was ruled out of IPL 2023 after being beaten by Gujarat Titans but an off-the-field video of the batter won everyone’s hearts. Suryakumar was seen watching Telugu star Thalapathy Vijay’s movie ‘Varisu’ on his flight and the video went viral on the internet. Fans enjoyed watching him have fun with the songs.
The video shows Suryakumar watching ‘Varisu’ and shaking his elbow to dance. Netizens found the video adorable and showered love for the cricketer. Vijay fans were also quick in sharing the video and complementing SKY.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, ‘Varisu’ starred Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Shaam, and Prakash Raj. The film was released in January 2023 and was a blockbuster hit at the box office.
The batter played a knock of 61 off 38 in Qualifier 2 against GT but could not chase 234 in the game as he got bowled by Mohit Sharma trying to paddle the ball leaving the stumps unguarded. MI batter Tilak Varma also played a cracking cameo of 43 off 14 but it was not enough to shadow Shubman Gill’s ton.
In the game, Shubman Gill scored his third hundred of the season to lead GT to a total of 233. He scored 129 off 60, hitting 10 sixes and 7 fours while skipper Hardik Pandya finished the inning with 28* off 13. After Mohammed Shami dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Nehal Wadhera, Mohit Sharma picked a 5-wicket haul in his 2.2 overs to dismantle MI’s batting line-up. MI lost the game by 62 runs and GT marched into the finals against CSK.
In IPL 2023, Suryakumar Yadav scored 605 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 181, including a century. He will be back in Indian colours soon and is also a reserve player for the World Test Championship Final.
