Swapnil who hails from a small place near Kolhapur, Maharashtra had to wait for 12 years! to realise his dream of representing his country. In the end, this wait has reaped in the most beautiful result that any Olympian can dream of, an Olympic medal on the first appearance itself.
Kusale who hails Mahendra Singh Dhoni as his inspiration and admirer, kept his calm throughout the entire match like captain cool. Eventually, Swapnil missed the silver by a whisker of 0.5 points to end up with the bronze medal. India has till now won three medals (all bronze) in the Paris Olympics 2024 which came from shooting.
