New Delhi: Indian hockey team thrashed Japan 5-3 in the hockey match at Tokyo Olympics on Friday.

Indian team outclasses the Japanese team in Pool A of the hockey match. Gurjant Singh’s excellent display of skills turned the tide in India’s favour.

With this victory, it is turning out to be Fabulous Friday for Team India. Prior to this, Lovlina and PV Sindhu made India proud and brightened India’s chances of winning medal at the Olympics.

With this round, India finishes at second spot in Group A category, with 3 victory from 4 games in the pool. India will play its next match in the quarter-final.

Lovlina put her native place Assam on the world map by punching her way in the mega event. She scripted history by ensuring India its second medal in the ongoing Olympic event. In the hardly contested bout, Lovlina defeated former world champion Chen Nien-Chin of Taiwan in the quarter-final and moved into semi-final of the Women’s Welterweight match.

PV Sindhu was the second sportsperson to increase India’s prospects of winning a medal at Olympics. Having stormed into semi-final, the shuttler carries high hopes of her shoulder, as she has already clinched a silver medal earlier in 2016 Rio Olympics.
