UK PM Rishi Sunak plays ‘garden cricket’ with T20 WC winning team; VIDEO of ‘hits & misses’ excites fans

The world cup winning team met UK’s PM Rishi Sunak on March 22 and shared some light-hearted moments of cricket.

New Delhi: England won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 as they beat Pakistan by five wickets in the finals. The world cup winning team met UK’s PM Rishi Sunak on March 22 and shared some light-hearted moments of cricket. They met the recently appointed Prime Minister at his official residence at 10 Downing Street.

Rishi Sunak was seen facing Player of the Tournament Sam Curran and Chris Jordan on a lawn. While Sam Curran bowled spin and gave him easy pickings, Chris Jordan bowled a shot ball to dismiss him. PM Sunak also rolled his arm to bowl a bit.

T20 World Cup-winning captain Jos Buttler was also seen batting and posing with the trophy.

Along with Buttler, Jordan and Curran, the other players meeting the PM were Chris Woakes, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Dawid Malan, Phil Salt, and Richard Gleeson.

In the finals, fielding first, England restricted Pakistan to 137 after Sam Curran picked 3 for 12 and Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan took two wickets each. Shan Masood, with his 38 off 28, was the highest scorer for Pak.

Shaheen Shah Afridi gave Pakistan a good start by dismissing Alex Hales in the first over. While England kept losing wickets, the player of big occasions, Ben Stokes, rose again and scored a fifty. His 52 off 49 along with Harry Brook’s 20 and Moen Ali’s 19 off 13 were the crucial knocks for the hosts. England chased the score with an over to spare and lifted the T20 World Cup for the second time.

The English team is also the first one to hold both T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup at the same time.
