Virender Sehwag’s son Aryavir Sehwag finds place in Delhi Under-16 squad in Vijay Merchant Trophy

Delhi and District Cricket Association shares the tweet with a picture of the team sheet which showed Aryavir’s name in it.

New Delhi: Former Indian batter Virender Sehwag’s son Aryavir Sehwag has found a place in the Delhi Under-16 squad. He is currently part of the squad playing the Vijay Merchant Trophy in Delhi. He made his cut to the squad out of the 79 probable players for the Delhi U-16.

Aryavir Sehwag could not make it to the first 15 in Delhi’s opening encounter in Hyderabad. Still, while Delhi faces Bihar at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, the 15-year-old cricketer has his name on the team sheet. Delhi and District Cricket Association shares the tweet with a picture of the team sheet which showed Aryavir’s name in it. However, he is yet to find a place in the playing XI.

While he is following in his father’s footsteps, Indian batter Virat Kohli is his favourite player. DDCA junior selection committee chairperson  Akash Malhotra said about Aryavir’s batting that he does not show the signs of being an aggressive batter like his father, rather he has good footwork and he is a good student of cricket. Even Virender Sehwag talked about his son in an interview and said that he wants Aryavir to be a cricketer and follow players like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya or MS Dhoni.
