New Delhi: Days after BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly hosted a dinner for Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in Kolkata, reports have it that India’s head coach is to attend BJP Yuva Morcha’s event in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh.
BJP Yuva Morcha is the youth wing of the political party which is currently ruling the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Dravid will attend the Yuva Morcha’s National Working Committee session in Dharamshala scheduled to be held from May 12 to May 15, informed BJP Dharamsala MLA Vishal Nehria.
The news of Dravid, who is also known as ‘The Wall’ amongst cricket lovers, attending a political event came as a huge surprise to the latter’s fans and admirers.
While many social media users applauded his decision to possibly begin with a new political inning, while others adviced the senior cricketer to stay out of politics.

While I respect their choice. Even though I am a BJP supporter, I still don’t like the idea of sports icons joining politics.

Is this authentic? @BJYM @BJP4India if true, this is best news of 2022 as no one is more loved and respected amongst sportspeople in India than Rahul. If he agrees, make him sports minister right away. He is a class act

Apart from Dravid, wrestler Babita Phogat is also expected to attend the event. Phogat’s presence in the session is not a surprise as she had joined the political party in 2019 along with her father Mahavir Phogat.
