
New Delhi: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra today won the silver medal at the World Athletics Championships, with this his became the second Indian and first male track athlete to win a medal at World Athletics Championships.
Neeraj Chopra secured 2nd position with his 4th throw of 88.13 meters in the men’s Javelin finals.
It was 19 year ago, that the legendary Anju Bobby George won a medal in athletics with a long jump bronze in the 2003.
Soon after Neeraj Chopra registered a silver medal, family and friends started celebrating Neeraj Chopra’s win in the World Athletics Championships at his hometown in Panipat in Haryana.
Also, visuals of his family members distributing laddoos to the guests soon after the medal announcement started circulating on social media.
In the video’s, women of the family can be seen dancing and celebrating Neeraj Chopra’s victory.
