Watch: Kamran Ghulam’s old video gets viral on social media where Haris Rauf is seen…

Kamran Ghulam has recently gained a lot of media attention after an old video of his went viral where he is being slapped by fast-bowler Haris Rauf.

New Delhi: Kamran Ghulam, Pakistan’s centurion from the 2nd Test in Multan has recently gained a lot of media attention after an old video of his went viral where he is being slapped by fast-bowler Haris Rauf. Ghulam recently grabbed headlines after becoming the second Pakistan in 42 years to score a century on debut.

Furthermore, Kamran became the second Pakistani player after Saleem Malik to score a Test century on debut while batting at number four. Malik had achieved the feat on his debut while playing against Sri Lanka in 1982 at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Video of the entire incident-

What was the controversy?

Ghulam’s controversial incident was an old one which happened during the 2022 in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Back in 2022, Ghulam got slapped by Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf while playing for the Lahore Qalandars. The Pakistani pacer was angry with Kamran after the latter dropped a catch off Rauf’s bowling. Subsequently, an angered Rauf vented out against Kamran amidst the celebration from the team.

All’s Well That Ends Well

However, all that slapping and criticism can take a back seat and the entire team can be proud of the fine performance of the Pakistani batsman. The 29-year-old Ghulam replaced an out-of-form Babar Azam at number four and foiled England’s aggressive bowling and fielding to go on and score a fantastic century.

Ghulam’s innings meant that Pakistan ended the first innings at 366. In reply, the English team came out all guns blazing. However, unlike the first test, this time Pakistan came out with a calculated bowling lineup of a spin-heavy attack. So far, things have worked in the favour of the men in green as the choices of the selectors- Sajid Khan and Kamran Ghulam have both left their mark in the game.
