While chasing India’s total of 119, Mohammad Siraj threw the ball aggressively towards Mohammad Rizwan which hit Rizwan’s shoulder.

New Delhi: India vs Pakistan has been a mouthwatering contest for several years amongst the fans due to controversies and fierce rivalries. This time also it was no different. There were heated exchanges of words, dropped catches and an overflow of emotions which made this match interesting.

However, one incident has got the social media buzzing. While chasing India’s total of 119, Mohammad Siraj threw the ball aggressively towards Mohammad Rizwan. Siraj was under the impression that the Pakistani batsman had walked out of the crease and was looking to take a run. The ball went straight into the hands of Siraj on his follow-through. However, the ball went straight to hit the shoulders of Rizwan.

Although the throw was not intentional, it sparked a controversy in social media as people took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their support and anger for the incident.

Bad day at the office for Pakistan…

Now, heading over to the match, Pakistan slumped to the second defeat of the T20 World Cup. Things are not going in tandem for the men in green in both the batting and balling departments. Against the USA in the first match, it was the balling that let the team down, while against India it was the willow that fell silent of a below-par total.

Chasing 119, everyone thought that Pakistan had the match in its dolly. However, an inspirational performance from Jasprit Bumrah crumbled down the entire batting order of the men in green. Pakistan’s disappointed skipper, Babar Azam was also very much annoyed by the lack of character on the field. “We bowled well. In the batting, lost back-to-back wickets and had too many dot balls. Tactics were simple to play normally….

For Pakistan, the team would sit back and thick on their tactics as they take on Canada in their next game. It will be a miracle if Pakistan are to qualify from the group for the Super 8s.
