New Delhi: Ravichandran Ashwin has been India’s go-to man for India for red ball on the spin-friendly tracks of India. The 38-year-old is reaching the twilight of his career but still has a trick or two in his hands. Ashwin led the Indian fightback on a bright red soil pitch in Wankhede which favoured a sharp turn. Interestingly, Ravichandran Ashwin was one of India’s heroes on Day 2 of the third Test against New Zealand in Wankhede, picking up three wickets as the tourists went 9 down for 171 runs by stumps.
Ashwin didn’t look at his absolute best until the Mumbai Test but pulled up his socks as India took on the Kiwis in a must-win clash, from the World Test Championship perspective. The delivery to bamboozle Glenn Phillips was unarguably the most impressive of the three wickets Ashwin bagged on Saturday.

Ashwin produced a stunning carrom ball that spun away from the right-handed Phillips after pitching on the leg stump. The ball beat the outside edge of the Kiwi star’s bat and shattered his stumps. The visual was a pure treat to the eyes of fans.

The champion is indeed back! 🤞
Ravichandran Ashwin has just dismissed Will Young, catching him off his own bowling, and New Zealand is now struggling at 150/8 . This is a huge wicket for India, and Ashwin is proving once again why he’s one of the best spinners in the game. pic.twitter.com/xl4qV6dTL7
