New Delhi: India won a crucial match against the USA where the team was struggling at one point against the judicious bowling of Netravalkar. However, Suryakumar Yadav (50*) and Shivam Dube (30*) stitched a useful partnership to save the team from danger.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Indian pacers especially Arshdeep Singh did a commendable job of restricting the Americans to 110/8 after 20 overs. Arshdeep delivered the best spell of his career to register a figure of 4/9 from his quota.

India had thought that chasing 110 runs won’t be a tough task for the men in blue given the solid opening pairing of Rohit and Kohli. However, an inspired bowling from Saurabh Netravalkar made things difficult and tricky for the men in blue. However, Surya rose from the ashes to ensure that India walked away with a victory.
Interestingly, in the 13th over of the chase, Surya played a mistimed shot which went straight up towards the square leg boundary. Saurabh Netravalkar who was fielding in the short third region ran to complete the catch. However, running behind Netravalkar was not able to grapple the catch in hindsight.

Seeing her husband survive a close shave, Surya’s wife Devisha Shetty took a respite and gave a warm smile. Eventually, her husband won the match for his team with an unbeaten half-century. It was India’s third victory which gallivanted Team India to the top of Group A.
Speaking about the game, skipper Rohit Sharma said, “Credit to us for the way we held our nerve and got that partnership. Credit to Surya and Dube for showing the maturity..” India will be playing their next game against Canada in Florida. Although that game is a dead rubber for the men in blue, Team India will look to end the group stage on a high. Moreover, it will be a very good platform for India’s top 2- Virat & Rohit to get some priceless runs under their belt.
