When Rayudu, Jackson had heated exchange on field, Umpire & players intervened (VIDEO)

After the altercation, Sheldon was seen returning to the crease but Rayudu refused to relent. He kept arguing with the umpires. Reports said that the brawl broke out after Rayudu expressed his displeasure at Jackson taking much time to get ready for deliveries.

New Delhi: In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a group D game witnessed chaos and wild burst of anger as two players namely Ambati Rayudu and Sheldon Jackson got into heated brawl in the field. The two had a heated exchange and almost came close to confront each other but the umpire intervened and calmed down the situation.

The ugly fight broke out when Jackson, playing from Saurashtra side was batting and looking for some big hits. The verbal altercation took place in 9th over of the game. Jackson, batting on the field, came marching towards Rayudu, apparently after latter made some insulting remarks against Jackson.

In the viral video, the duo could be seen going after each other before the players & umpire came in between and helped calm down the nerves.

The match was won by Baroda. Though Rayudu got dismissed for duck, other players put up a good total of 175 runs in 20 overs.

Last time, Ambati Rayudu created controversy was during IPL 2022. He announced his retirement from the league but minutes later deleted his tweet and also backtracked on his announcement from game.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a domestic T-20 cricket championship in India, organized by the BCCI. Organized in name of former Indian Test cricketer, the tournament hosts teams from the Ranji Trophy.
