New Delhi: Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR’s owner and actor Shah Rukh Khan penned a heartwarming note for the youngster and wished him luck in the future. Shah Rukh also congratulated Arjun’s father and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on this occasion.

Sharing the tweet, the actor wrote that as competitive as this IPL may be, but, when one sees a friend’s son take the field it is a matter of happiness and joy. Wishing the father-son duo luck, he also added that it was a proud moment.

SRK’s remarks garnered love from fans as he did not hesitate to compliment Arjun despite KKR losing to MI in the game.

Arjun Tendulkar got to bowl two overs in the game in which he gave 17 runs but could not open his account of wickets. He was handed over the cap by captain Rohit Shamra as teammates cheered for him.

In the game, 58 off 25 by Ishan Kishan and 43 off 25 by Suryakumar Yadav helped MI chase the score and both batters coming back in touch is great news for MI. Tim David contributed 24* off 13 to finish the chase. Youngster Suyash Sharma picked two wickets but could not restrict MI from chasing 186.

While the batting line-up failed, Andre Russell smashed 21* off 11 to take KKR to 185. Piyush Chawla bowled brilliantly and ended up with the figures of 19/1 while Hrithik Shokeen picked two scalps.

Arjun Tendulkar plays domestic cricket for Goa and has picked 12 wickets in 10 T20s. With the bat, he has managed just 20 runs in five T20 innings so far.
