New Delhi: Once the captain of the India U-19 side and hailed as the next ‘Sachin Tendulkar’ of cricket, Prithvi Shaw now finds it hard to make the Mumbai team for the Ranji Trophy season. In a recent statement by the Mumbai Cricket Association, the right-hand batsman has been left out of the side for at least one Ranji Trophy game due to fitness concerns.

The final decision to leave out Shaw was taken by a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selection committee, comprising Sanjay Patil (chairman), Ravi Thaker, Jeetendra Thackeray, Kiran Powar, and Vikrant Yeligeti.

The selectors have decided to drop the name of Prithvi Shaw to teach him a lesson for his recurrent discipline problems. According to reports, reporting to net sessions late has been one of the biggest concerns for the team management when it comes to Shaw.
