Women’s Asia Cup 2024: Where to watch, India squad and more

The Women’s Asia Cup 2024 is currently going on in Sri Lanka from the 19th of July and will conclude on the 28th of July.

New Delhi: India’s national women’s cricket team has begun its title defence of the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. This is going to be the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. India is the most successful nation in the Women’s Asia Cup when it comes to titles. The Women in Blue have claimed the titles a whopping 7 times in the last 9 editions. On the other hand, Bangladesh has won 1 title as well as hosts Sri Lanka.

India has been drawn up alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, UAE and Nepal in Group A. The Group stages will be followed by the semifinals where the top 2 teams of each group will battle it out. Subsequently, the top 2 teams will clash in the finals on the 28th of July.

In the last edition of the Women’s Asia Cup, Team India defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh to win the seventh title. Now, under the guidance of Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandana can the girls clinch the title for the eighth time?
