Women’s Premier League Auctions: Smriti Mandhana sold for highest bid of Rs 3.4 cr to RCB, followed by Gardner, Sciver

The highest base price of a player is set to Rs 50 lakh and 24 players are listed at this price, including Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Meg Lanning, Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry.

New Delhi: Auctions for the inaugural Women’s Premier League were held when women’s cricket is at the centre stage with ICC Women’s T20 World Cup around. The biggest league for women’s cricket is about to begin and the cricket fraternity has its eye on it. Smriti Mandhana was sold at the highest amount of Rs 3.4 crore to RCB.

A total of 409 cricketers were listed to go under the hammer in the auctions to fill 90 slots for five teams.
