Experienced captain Shafali Verma became the first target for Illingworth, followed by G Trisha. Maggie Clarke took over and picked two wickets, including Richa Ghosh. Woman in form Shweta Sehrawat scored 21 off 29 but got out to Ginger as India stood at 54/4. Harshita Basu and Titas Sadhu scored 14 each to pose a fight in the lower order, but could only manage to take the women in blue to a total of 87.
Chasing the small total Kate Pelle started aggressively before falling to Titas Sadhu for 17 off 13. The next two overs saw a wicket each in the form of Sianna Ginger and Elly Hayward and with the top order collapsing, Australia’s score stood at 37/3 in the sixth over.
While India tried to materialise the collapse and turn the game, Claire Moore and Amy Smith managed to chase the score in 13.5 overs. Moore score a 25* off 28 and Smith scored 26* off 25 to win the Super Six game.

This win would mean a big boost for Australia at this crucial stage and can be their bounce back after losing to Bangladesh in the group stage. India will next face Sri Lanka on January 22.
