WPL 2023: Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green discuss MI’s consecutive victories, reveal their favourite players (VIDEO)

As they move closer to the finals, MI boys Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green came for a press conference-style interview to talk about their franchise’s performance and favourite players in WPL.

New Delhi: Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians is looking unstoppable with five consecutive victories and are the tournament leaders with five out of five. As they move closer to the finals, MI boys Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green came for a press conference-style interview to talk about their franchise’s performance and favourite players in WPL.

Cameron Green asked Ishan about the last WPL game, to which he said that he enjoyed it as MI got a wicket on the very first ball. Kishan revealed his top 3 favourites from MI, who are the captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia and the woman with a golden arm Saika Ishaque.

Talking about the atmosphere he said that MI fans come and support the team no matter what the situation is. He added that Mumbai Indians boys might be there to support their team in the WPL finals.

After this, it was Green’s turn to answer the questions and talking about being part of Mumbai Indians, the Australian all-rounder said that he feels awesome about the love shown by the fans and the support staff is great.

He was asked about the impact of WPL in women’s cricket to which Green said it will have a similar effect as IPL had for men’s cricket. Kishan asked him if he is confident that MI will win the finals, to which he answered, “No doubt!”

Green and Kishan were there to support Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium, while they played against Gujarat Giants.

In the game, while Ashleigh Gardner dismissed Hayley Matthews in the first over, Yastika Bhatia’s 44 off 37 set the stage for MI. It was Harmanpreet Kaur’s fireworks that helped her team reach a total of 162/8. She scored 51 off 30, hitting seven fours and two sixes. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr also contributed 36(31) and 19(13), but the lower order could not do much. Gardner showed her class and picked up three wickets.

Harleen Deol covered about 20 yards and took a diving catch to dismiss Harmanpreet Kaur as she continues to impress the cricket world with her exceptional fielding.

Sciver-Brunt began the inning by dismissing in-form Sophia Dunkley on the first ball and she and Matthews picking three wickets each led to a 55-run win for MI.
