WPL 2024 Auction: Annabelle Sutherland and Kashvee Gautam joint most expensive buy with Rs 2 cr, respectively, Vrinda Dinesh also goes for Rs 1.3 cr

165 players will go under hammer today, for the 30 empty spots.

New Delhi: The WPL 2024 auction, on Saturday, ended up as a huge success as all five teams got what they wanted in their team for the upcoming season.

A total of 165 players went under the hammer for the 30 open slots, with 21 Indian and 9 overseas players, finding out their new home in the WPL 2024.

Indian uncapped player Kashvee Gautam created history by becoming the joint most expensive player with Annabel Sutherland in the auction, with a final price of Rs 2 crore.

Kashvee joined the Gujarat Giants squad, while Sutherland went on her way to the Delhi Capitals camp. Vrinda Dinesh (UPW, 1.3 cr) and Shabnim Ismail (MI, 1.2 cr), were the next two most expensive players in the auction.

In a surprise turn of events, Chamari Athapathu, Kim Garth and Tara Norris, like big names, failed to attract any franchise, but Kate Cross and Danielle Wyatt, who went unsold in the last auctions, finally found a home this time.
