“You okay to talk to me Jaddu, right?”: Sanjay Manjrekar asks Ravindra Jadeja after high voltage match against Pak

Act was in pretext of a verbal spat between the two during the 2019 World Cup, when Manjrekar had called Jadeja a “bits and pieces” player

New Delhi: In a highly arousing match against its arch-rival on Sunday, India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets with the help of all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 33-runs.

Though it was Ravindra Jadeja’s 35 runs knock in 29 balls that laid the foundation for India’s win as he maintained a partnership of 52 runs with fellow Pandya until the last and fifth wicket in the match.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was looking after the post-match responsibilities wherein he had to interview Jadeja, and the very first question he asked the skipper was if he was okay to talk to him.

Notably, the act was in the pretext of a verbal spat between the two during the 2019 World Cup, when Manjrekar had called Jadeja a “bits and pieces” player.

Replying to Manjrekar on social media, Jadeja had slammed the latter taking a dig at his cricket career saying, “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar”.

Interviewing Jadeja on Sunday, Manjrekar asked him, “I have got Ravindra Jadeja here with me, first question, you are okay to talk to me Jaddu right?”

The question left Jadeja in splits as he replied, “Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. I do not have any problem”.

While talking about the high-octane match against Pak, he further said, “We wanted to play till the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away. I could have finished the game but Hardik played superbly. He (Pandya) came out, he was very clear in his head and said he was going to play his shots, and I am happy that he stayed till the end”.

After a thriller win in its first match in the Asia Cup, the men in blue will face off Hong Kong in Group A clash on Wednesday.
