2023 in a nutshell for Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal featured in 14 ODI’s and 9 T20I’s in 2023 while taking 21 and 9 wickets, in each format, respectively.

However, Chahal’s hard time started when BCCI announced the Indian squad for the Asia Cup and ICC World Cup 2023, where his name was missing from the list.

Chahal left a cryptic message on his X (Formerly known as Twitter) page, before deciding to use the time off by playing county cricket in England.

Chahal was once again overlooked, when BCCI announced the Indian squad for the five matches T20I series against the Aussies right after the World Cup, and Chahal, being the true sportsperson he is, decided to represent the Haryana team in the meantime in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Chahal was finally picked for the ODI series against the Proteas, in South Africa, but failed to get any match time as Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sunder got preference over him, marking the end of his disapproving year.
