Speaking about the attack, AK Goyal, DIG South Kashmir said, "Terrorists lobbed a grenade at around 10:30 am today, in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag. Ten persons were injured and one of them is a traffic police constable."
Notably, this is the second attack on security forces in the Valley since the Narendra Modi-led government has revoked special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, 2 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and 3 others sustained injuries after their patrol team came under terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district.
Security forces have neutralised two terrorists in an encounter on Tuesday.The terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Kokernag area of Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir police said.
The encounter broke out during an anti-terror operation which was launched by the forces late last night on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
