MeT department said that the Cyclone is very likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Veraval and Diu by early tomorrow morning. It is likely to inundate the low lying coastal areas.
It also predicted that the pressure is expected to move north-northwestwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm subsequently.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held a review meeting with senior officials on the destruction caused by Fani in the state last night. Patnaik said in the last 24 hours, over 12 lakh people have been evacuated from vulnerable districts to safer locations.
