The Jharkhand High Court on Friday granted bail to former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the Chaibasa treasury case related to the Rs 950 crore fodder scam.

The Congress leader's lawyers have also moved an application stating that he wants to surrender in the ED case in relation to INX media case. A notice has been issued to the ED and a reply from the probe agency has been sought.

Chidambaram is being taken to Tihar jail after a CBI court sent him to judicial custody till September 19 in the INX media case.Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court also rejected his plea challenging the Delhi High Court order that had refused anticipatory bail

Chidambaram took a jibe at the government over the growth rate of 5 per cent in April to June quarter him when he was asked about his custody in CBI.

Chidambaram is facing probe in cases registered by the CBI and the ED pertaining to alleged irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance given to INX Media to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when he was the Union finance minister.

The Jharkhand High Court on Friday granted bail to former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad in a fodder scam case involving illegal withdrawal of funds from the Deoghar treasury.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar also alleged that the ticket distribution was handled by Lalu, despite him behind the bars.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of RJD chief Lalu Prasad in multi-crore fodder scam cases.A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said it is not inclined to enlarge Yadav on bail in the cases.

'Since last evening, I am waiting to meet my father who is undergoing treatment at Ranchi hospital but this autocratic government of BJP is not allowing me to meet a son with his father. In jail and even while undergoing treatment at the hospital, his room is raided daily,' tweeted Tejashwi Yadav.
