It means Russell keeps his first points - the two he scored for ninth, plus the one for fastest lap - moving him into 18th in the drivers' championship. His impressive showing at the front in Bahrain means he has now led more laps in 2020 than anybody other than Lewis Hamilton or Bottas.
Lewis Hamilton still leads the championship but this win has allowed Valtteri Bottas to close the gap on his Mercedes teammate.
Hamilton won five out of six world titles (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019) with Mercedes
Daniel Ricciardo was an impressive seventh from 16th on the grid for Renault, with his teammate Nico Hülkenberg in 10th. Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly was eighth, with Racing Point’s Sergio Pérez in ninth.
