Cyclone Amphan made landfall around 20 kilometres east of Sagar Island in the Sunderbans on Wednesday afternoon snapping telecommunications, power lines and cutting roads links.
Owaisi said that the Centre must work for complete relief and rehabilitation of those affected by the cyclone.

Cyclone Amphan made landfall in coastal regions of Odisha and West Bengal on May 20. Balasore district received heavy rainfall and strong winds due to the cyclone yesterday.
Earlier in the day, Modi tweeted, "My thoughts are with the people of Odisha as the state bravely battles the effects of Cyclone Amphan.
Amphan has moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 27 kilometres per hour during the past six hours, and further weakened into a "cyclonic storm".
Two persons were killed and 5,500 houses damaged in North 24 Parganas as cyclone Amphan hit West Bengal and left a trail of destruction in the state. Two persons sustained severe injuries.
The NDRF chief said that based on experiences during Cyclone FANI, all teams are equipped with tree cutters and pole cutters for post-landfall restoration if the need arises.
Indian Coast Guard ships and aircraft have been kept on stand by for deployment to undertake area scan, search and rescue and relief efforts.
The ENC is also coordinating with the state administrations in Odisha and West Bengal to augment rescue and relief operations as needed.
