Apple WWDC 2024: When and Where to Watch and Key Announcements

New Delhi: Apple’s year-round conference is back with the announcement of WWDC 2024. Although the company has not revealed any big updates, it is expected that many major updates regarding AI and OS are coming up in the WWDC 2024.

So far, the company has only revealed the date and time of the event apart from the fact that a keynote address will be given by Apple CEO Tim Cook. Besides this, Apple has also promised 100 technical sessions conducted by Apple engineers, designers and experts from other domains throughout the entire event.

When and where to watch?

WWDC 2024 is set to go live on the 10th of June and continue till the 14th of June. According to the recent announcement, the authorities have decided to schedule the event from 10 am Pacific Standard Time which is 10:30 pm in IST. Next, people will be curious as to where to watch the event. Well, traditionally all Apple events have generally been streamed across their websites i.e. apple.com. Moreover, it will also be streamed across various YouTube channels as well.

Key Announcements that can happen at WWDC 2024

As per reports and sources, Apple will most probably not come out with any major hardware updates. However, there is a chance that the Californian giants will come out with major software updates as well as improved AI features. This also includes the most talked about iOS 18 which can be a major game changer for all iPhone users courtesy of the AI updates that come packed in with the new update.

Naturally, the entire chatter before the WWDC 2024 has been around the iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS and the watchOS. To make the iOS 18 more powerful, Apple has decided to collaborate with Open AI, Google and Anthropic for their chatbots in its OS. So far, Open AI is the only company with whom the company has reached an agreement and will be the first to amalgamate into the Apple ecosystem. Talks with Google regarding Gemini are also going on while there is uncertainty about the understanding between both Apple and Anthropic.

Some other major AI features like smart recap (similar to Microsoft’s Recall feature), Voice Memo Transcription and AI-generated emojis are also expected to land in the hands of IOS users. Apple has also promised to work on its talk-assistant feature Siri to make user transmission more sleaky.
