Bumble introduces ‘Compliments’ feature to forge connections ahead of matches

According to Bumble, engaging with the Compliments feature significantly increases the chances of finding a match and enhances the quality of conversations.

New Delhi: Bumble, the popular online dating service, has recently unveiled a groundbreaking feature called “Compliments,” designed to foster connections between users before they officially match on the platform.

This innovative addition allows individuals to reach out to potential matches by sending a heartfelt note, creating an opportunity for a positive and engaging conversation. According to Bumble, engaging with the Compliments feature significantly increases the chances of finding a match and enhances the quality of conversations.

In fact, the company conducted an in-house study, specifically surveying Indian users, which revealed that an astonishing 85% of respondents admitted that receiving a compliment from a potential romantic partner made them more interested. This finding further underscores the potential of Compliments to create meaningful connections between users.

Samarpita Samaddar, Bumble’s Communications Director for India, emphasized the importance of kindness and positivity in initiating conversations. “At Bumble, we believe in the power and positivity of kindness and that when a compliment is the foundation of conversation, you are setting the stage for the connection to begin in the best possible way,” Samaddar stated.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Users can send up to two weekly messages, which can be directed toward a person’s profile prompts, bio, or images.
  2. These messages can be viewed and received in two ways: through the receiver’s Beeline or their main Encounters page.
  3. In the event that a message remains unread, the receiver will receive immediate notifications upon opening the app, ensuring that no messages go unnoticed.
  4. Compliments, alongside other exciting features such as “Recommend to a Friend” and “Speed Dating,” form part of Bumble’s new initiatives to empower users to initiate conversations intentionally and positively.

The introduction of Compliments allows users to establish a connection before formally matching and promotes a culture of kindness and positivity within the Bumble community.
