New Delhi: Although 5G is available in most countries across the world, India is yet to experience it. Just like most of us, if you are waiting for the release of 5G, the wait is likely to get over soon. Initially, 5G will be rolled out in some selected cities and in phased manner. The Union telecom minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw has finally given a possible date for its release. He announced that the 5G services should be launched by October 12 and slowly it will be reaching more cities and towns. Earlier, Airtel stated that it will introduce 5G deployment in August 2022. However, no more development was noticed.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is expected to announce 5G launch on August 29 at its AGM event. Besides, it is expected that Jio 5G phone will also launch.
According to the telecom minister, the price of the 5G plan will definitely be affordable. This will allow people to experience a faster 5G network. The government is also aiming to roll out the services to every corner of the country in the next 2-3 years.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) suggested that the 5G services should first reach to top 13 cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. Reliance Jio on the other hand has plans to release it first in only 9 cities and then in 1,000 cities.
