Finally the wait is over! Valorant is Coming to Consoles.. Beta Launch Tomorrow

Riot Games announced during Summer Game Fest that the free-to-play hero shooter will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The limited beta starts next week.

New Delhi: After years of rumors, Riot Games has announced that Valorant is coming to consoles. The Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will both support the game. For fans who have been playing it on PCs, this is huge news.

The limited beta for Valorant on consoles will start from tomorrow, June 14. This beta will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan. Players in these regions can try the game and give feedback to help improve it.

The PS5 and Xbox versions of Valorant are designed to give the same great experience as the PC version. However, there will be no cross-play between PC and consoles to keep the gameplay fair. Players will have a shared inventory and can use their skins and agents on both platforms.

Updates for every platform will be released at the same time by Riot Games. This includes new agents, maps, and other features. Production director Arnar Gylfason said that, “We were adamant that Valorant’s core, competitive gameplay must feel natural on a controller; and – if we couldn’t deliver on that gameplay promise – we had to be prepared to walk away from it. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will have the final say.”

There will be game modes like Unrated, Swiftplay, and Deathmatch on the console version. Maps like Ascent, Bind, Haven, and Abyss will be available first, with more to come later. A new shooting mode called Focus Mode helps players aim better with controllers.

No Cross-Play Between PC and Console

To keep things fair, there will be no cross-play between PC and consoles. This is because playing with a controller is different from using a mouse and keyboard. Players on the Xbox and PlayStation can still play together, though.

Players can use their skins and agents on both PC and console without unlocking them again. All progress and cosmetics will transfer between platforms. However, competitive ranks will be separate for PC and consoles to keep things fair.

Full Release Coming in 2024

While the exact release date for the full version of Valorant on consoles is still unknown, it is expected to be available globally in 2024. Riot Games wants to make sure the console version is just as good as the PC version. More news and updates will come as the release date gets closer.

Valorant’s move to consoles is a big step for Riot Games, bringing the exciting tactical shooter to even more players. Console players can look forward to the same thrilling experience that PC players love.
