From personalized AI friend to addition of song lyrics in reels, Instagram is rolling out these new exciting features

New Delhi: Popular Social media platform Instagram is rolling out a new intriguing feature for reels.

The latest feature will allow the users of the meta-owned app to add lyrics of popular songs into their reels. As of now, the feature is only limited to Instagram Stories.

Making an announcement about the same, the CEO of Instagram Adam Missouri wrote, “New feature alert. We’re rolling out a way to add song lyrics when editing your reels, just like you can on Stories.”

“We’ve seen people manually add lyrics to reels, so hope this makes it easier to use music to express yourself. Working on more updates to get creative on reels, stay tuned.”, the CEO added further.

Here’s how to add song lyrics to your Instagram reel

• First, you must tap on the music button icon and select the song
• Then, swipe left on your screen for the selected song
• Lyrics of that particular song will soon be ready for your reel.

While this feature of adding lyrics to the song was made available by makers for Instagram Stories long ago, the same is now finally arriving for the reels after a significant time.

Prior to this, Instagram also brought a number of tools to enhance the user’s experience while making reels. The tools include better templates and a template browser categorised into three separate sections Recommending, Trending, and Saved sections. This helps the user to find the right template for their content.

Reports have it that the Meta-owned social media giant is also planning to introduce a new feature called ‘AI friend’. The advanced feature will let the Instagram user create an AI-powered imaginary friend and even personalize it by tailoring its various characteristics like gender (Male, Female, Non-Binary) ethnicity, interests, behavior, and other personality traits as per their convenience.

Sharing a screenshot of the same, known tech leaker Alessandro Paluzzi took to his Twitter (Now X) handle and wrote, “Instagram is working on the ability to create an AI friend.”
