New Delhi: Tech giant Google commemorated German physicist and composer Oskar Sala’s 112th birth anniversary via its doodle on Monday, i.e. July 18.
Sala is best known for his initiative of creating mixture-trautonium and giving unique sound effects for television, radio and movies.
“Recognized for producing sound effects on a musical instrument called a mixture-trautonium, Salas electrified the world of television, radio and film”, Google’s web page mentioned.

Who was Oskar Sala?
Sala was born and brought in a family of music lovers, with his mother Annemarie who was a professional singer, as well as his father Paul Sala who worked as an ophthalmologist, and further shaped Oskar’s talent in the feild of music.
At a young age of 14, he started composing notes and songs on various music instruments including piano and violin.
Sala studied physics along with music composition during his academic education, and later went to University of Berlin to study Physics, mathematics and natural sciences.
Sala’s Achievements
The latter mastered in trautonium, and won various awards in the later years for his service of providing unique sound effects in numerous movies and radio broadcasts. He also donated his beloved trautonium to the German Museum for Contemporary Technology in year 1995.
Oskar Sala further created fusion instruments named Volkstrautonium, Concert Trautonium, and Quartett-Trautonium. His Volkstrautonium was displayed at the Berliner Funkausstellung radio exhibition in 1933.
