New Delhi: In a mega event held in Delhi on Wednesday, the global tech firm Google launched its much-awaited Street View feature in India.
Google Map’s street view facility will soon be available in 10 cities across the country in the initial phase, though the company plans to extend its operation in 50 more regions over time.
The feature was first launched in the United States nearly 15 years ago. While Indian users are excited to get a high-quality view of the place or location of their choice from anywhere with just a click, various cities around the world have been using it for years now.
As Google’s newly launched feature made its way to the Indian users after a long wait, it became the talk of the town, trending on top on the microblogging site Twitter.

Meanwhile, the search engine giant has launched the street view feature in the country in collaboration with Tech Mahindra and Genesys International.
Google has launched the feature in Bangluru for now as a pilot project, and plans to launch it in Kolkata next.
