New Delhi: Google brings a sparkling surprise for this Diwali. The festival of lights will be celebrated on October 26 and as the preparation for Diwali has begun, Google is also ready to celebrate. In India, if you search for the word ‘Diwali’ on Google, a small and bright surprise will be waiting for you.

The tech firm tweeted about the surprise and wrote, “Just here to say search Diwali for a surprise.” As you search ‘Diwali’ in the search box, you will find the word ‘Diwali’ with a lamp on the top left. On clicking the lamp surrounded with sparkling stars, the screen gets filled with such bright lamps. A lamp can be moved along with the cursor, to light other lamps appearing on the screen. As you light all the lamps, the lamps glow and big sparkling stars appear on the screen.
The surprise is available on Google’s mobile app also. Both Android and iOS users can enjoy the surprise. So, with this new Diwali feature from Google, one can not only light up their homes but also their PCs, laptops or mobile screens.
Follow these simple steps to enjoy the surprise:
- Search Diwali on Google search box.
- Click on the earthen lamp on the top left of the screen.
- You will see a bright screen and a lit-up lamp. Click on that lamp.
- Move the cursor to other lamps to light them up.
- As you light all the lamps, the screen brightens and sparkling stars appear on the screen.
