In Tesla’s VIDEO, a humanoid robot seen practicing Yoga, draws many eyeballs

Achieving that end goal requires building the software stacks that enable balance, navigation, perception and interaction with the physical world.

New Delhi: On Sunday, Tesla uploaded a video to its YouTube channel that features their humanoid robot, Optimus, and it has now gone viral.

Optimus does some yoga and colour-sorts blocks on its own in the video to show off its powers. This video demonstrates the robot’s impressive ability to classify items quickly and accurately, much like a human. When a human interferes with the robot’s assignment on purpose to make things more difficult, the robot quickly adjusts to the new circumstances and finishes the job.

The robot then displays its balance and flexibility by striking a series of yoga positions, including the traditional one-legged stand and the extended arm and leg position. The video shows that Optimus has the ability to adjust its own leg and arm lengths. It uses vision and joint position encoders to accurately localise its limbs in space.

The video was posted and described by the official Tesla Optimus account,” Optimus can now sort objects autonomously 🤖

Its neural network is trained fully end-to-end: video in, controls out.

As the video shows, TeslaBot can now interpret visual input and create control output thanks to the same end-to-end neural network that powers Tesla vehicles.

“Create a general purpose, bi-pedal, autonomous humanoid robot capable of performing unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks. Achieving that end goal requires building the software stacks that enable balance, navigation, perception and interaction with the physical world. We’re hiring deep learning, computer vision, motion planning, controls, mechanical and general software engineers to solve some of our hardest engineering challenges,” Tesla, on its website wrote describing Tesla Bot.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, saw the video and said, “Progress.”

Users were blown away by the robot’s improved functionality after seeing it online. One user replied, ”This is really great stuff. Insane progress. One nitpick I have is that there are some flaws in its movement which actually most people also do as well, such as the movement of the hips being involved with the movement of the arms…” Another said, ”Optimus is looking very fluid and natural with dexterity and movements.”
