India’s Tech geography can get a new makeover under the new NDA government

Chandrababu Naidu has been one of the vocal proponents of the technical revolution in Andhra.

New Delhi: Chandrababu Naidu has been one of the vocal proponents of the technical revolution in Andhra. In the undivided Andhra Pradesh, Naidu had already helped develop Hyderabad as an IT hub. Now, with the NDA failing to get a clear majority, TDP forms a major ally for Modi’s government. So, who knows in the new Andhra Pradesh, Naidu’s tryst with technology can transform the tech makeover of Amravati.

Incidentally, Naidu was the first politician who saw potential in Hyderabad and offered to talk with Microsoft founder Bill Gates to open the doors for tech expansion. The result is Hyderabad today is home to all the leading technology setups like Google, IBM, Amazon, Hewlett-Packard, and Texas Instruments to name a few.

One of the major concerns in the NDA-led governments has been that the tech expansion has generally occurred in Gujarat. However, with things looking favourably poised in TDP’s favour, there is a chance that Amravati might also see a tech makeup in the next 5 years.

..TDP would certainly push projects to land up in Andhra Pradesh..”- remarks TDP

TDP has been optimistic about the recent tech development that is anticipated for Andhra “The TDP would certainly push projects to land up in Andhra Pradesh…” Apple which has already made its footfall in the Southern part of India is also expected to set up shops in Andhra through which it is expected to sell iPhone accessories to the customers.

Interestingly, Amravati has been a centre of intense political tussle between the ruling TDP government and the former YSRCP government. While TDP wants to make Amravati the centre of tech development, the YSRCP government wanted to diversify the tech expansion to other parts and make Vishakapatnam the main base.

Andhra is a state with one of the highest unemployment rates. Naturally, only the IT revolution cannot change these dynamics inside the state. However, Naidu has also promised expansion in the manufacturing as well as the automobile sectors as well (primarily in the Rayalaseema region).
